Greg Walsh at  Mandala

Presented by Greg Walsh

Melbourne pianist, vocalist, songwriter  Greg Walsh will be performing at Mandala Restaurant and Bar on Friday 21st January as part of the Melbourne Midsumma Festival.

This is a great chance to hear some smooth live music, while enjoying some fine Nepalese food from Mandala. The genre  is blues, rock, jazz and soul. This includes originals from Walsh’s album “A Busy Street”, some post album music, and covers of some of the great classics of the 20th Century.

“And he’s not just a fine piano player. Greg possesses an eclectic musical style, ranging from blues, to jazz, to soul and rock, and what’s even better is the fact that he owns an incredible voice.” – Australian Musician Magazine.

“The very special sound of Walsh’s voice makes it difficult to compare with other singers.” – rootstime.com.be “vocally he has a classic jazz range with smooth husky undertones” – Melodys Eye On Music

Walsh has a unique warm voice and bluesy piano playing. Comparisons include: “sounds like Ali Campbell” (lead singer of UB40), “sounds like Vince Jones”, and the comparison that keeps resurfacing “The White Ray Charles”.
